Working as a member of the robotics team meant learning new experiences and as a rookie team, learning them the hard way! The experience has taught me to properly delegate roles, by assigning tasks to particular members. This makes the process more efficient and less time-consuming. A rookie team needs to be capable of effectively ensuring all members play an active role in the building phase. It is also especially important to be on the same page as your peers, whether this is for building, or even developing a strategy with your alliance before a match. Rookie teams typically face a shortage of parts so developing and effectively utilizing components is important when creating something that is effective but also remains properly functional. Things go wrong in the arena and lacking the right parts in the pit can ruin matches for the entire day. Overall as a rookie team, you need to learn to adapt, even faster than other teams. Chances are, the robot will be less complex as a rookie and this means that creativity is key, changing up strategy and adapting gameplay. – Maximus
